We’re Rachel and Van Aarde Pretorius — partners in life, parenting, and now, in building something we couldn’t find but desperately needed: Flexbox.
Our story began like many others. During the pandemic, we were navigating work, parenting, and wellness from a small two-bedroom apartment in Los Angeles — with a toddler full of energy and zero space for gym equipment. As two seasoned fitness professionals (I’m a former personal trainer and model; Van coaches elite athletes and Hollywood clients), we knew how to train. But even with all our experience, we still struggled to make fitness fit our life.
The gym was out. Home equipment was either bulky, unattractive, or ineffective. We needed something compact, stylish, and powerful — a complete workout system that didn’t take over our home or our time.
So, we built it.
